About the role#
The Administrative Fellowship Program (AFP) at Stanford Health Care is a paid, one-year post-graduate experience designed to foster the growth of future healthcare leaders. This program provides exposure to healthcare leadership and opportunities to apply graduate-level knowledge to practical hospital operations. Fellows receive mentorship from senior leaders and engage in project-based work that supports the organization's clinical and master planning initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Participate in and lead the planning and execution of projects assigned by mentors and the executive team.
- Obtain, analyze, synthesize, and interpret industry, institutional, market, and financial data.
- Perform independent analysis of operational, financial, and statistical information.
- Assist with the planning and facilitation of improvement projects and present findings.
- Research, design, and produce projects involving senior management, physician leaders, and patients.
- Visit hospital departments and observe meetings to understand hospital strategy, workflows, and relationship development.
- Participate in departmental rotations to identify key roles, outputs, and management challenges.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Current enrollment in a Master’s degree program in Hospital Administration, Health Services Administration, Business Administration, or Public Health.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Effective communication skills for instructing, negotiating, and consulting across all organizational levels.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- No prior work experience is required.
