About the role#
The Respiratory Therapist Internship at St. Luke's University Health Network provides students with hands-on clinical experience while they complete their education. This paid position allows interns to work alongside experienced respiratory therapists in a supportive environment. The role offers exposure to the health system and supports professional development.
What you'll do#
- Assist with Interventional Pulmonary procedures, including equipment setup, handling instruments, preparing and transporting specimens, and equipment reprocessing.
- Clean, disinfect, and restock equipment in hospital areas and emergency kits.
- Change equipment as needed and monitor supply inventory, ordering or stocking items as necessary.
- Perform pre-operative checks and set up ventilators.
- Work with the Bio-med department to repair equipment.
- Demonstrate the hospital's core values and customer service behaviors in all interactions.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Enrollment in a Respiratory Therapy program is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software.
- Prior hospital experience is preferred.

- Locations: Opportunities are available across campuses in Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, Quakertown, and Sellersville, Pennsylvania, as well as Phillipsburg, New Jersey.
- Modality: This is an on-site position.
- Schedule: The internship offers flexible scheduling based on availability, up to a maximum of 30 hours per week.
