About the role#
This full-time, competency-based internship provides a transition from novice to advanced beginner for nurses entering the operating room. The program includes a mix of seminars, workshops, supervised hands-on training, simulation, and clinical observations. You will work with a dedicated education team and complete the AORN Perioperative 101 core curriculum. The program covers both circulating and scrub roles and offers 38.9 continuing education credits.
What you'll do#
- Provide nursing care through the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation.
- Document the effects of care provided.
- Work cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, and other patient-team personnel.
- Maintain confidentiality of all materials and handle the release of information appropriately.
- Model the Network’s Service Excellence Standards of Performance in all interactions.
- Comply with all departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.
- Demonstrate competency in patient assessment, treatment, and communication appropriate to the age of the patient.
What you'll need#
- Nursing students with prospective Spring, Summer, or Winter graduation dates who are eligible to sit for the NCLEX and obtain licensure before the start of the internship.
- Experienced Registered Nurses who have not previously worked in an operating room setting.
- Current Pennsylvania or New Jersey Registered Nurse license.
- Current BLS certification.
- Ability to meet physical requirements, including standing for up to 10 hours, lifting up to 75 lbs, and transporting patients weighing up to 500 lbs.

- This is an on-site role with rolling start dates.
- Opportunities are available at multiple campuses, including Allentown, Bethlehem, Coaldale, Easton, Lehighton, Orwigsburg, Quakertown, and Stroudsburg.
