Graduate Nurse and Registered Nurse Emergency Department Internship (Opportunities At Multiple Campuses) - Winter 2026 Cohort

About the role#

St. Luke's University Health Network is offering a full-time, competency-based Emergency Department Internship for the Winter 2026 cohort. This program is designed to bridge the gap between academic preparation and professional practice, supporting the transition from novice to advanced beginner. The internship includes a progressive arrangement of seminars, workshops, supervised hands-on training, simulations, and clinical observations, all supported by a dedicated education team.

What you'll do#

• Provide comprehensive nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating patient outcomes.
• Work cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, and interdisciplinary team members to maintain professional practice standards.
• Demonstrate competency in patient assessment, treatment, and communication appropriate to the patient's age and developmental stage.
• Model the Network’s Service Excellence Standards of Performance in all interactions.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient and network information.
• Comply with all departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.

What you'll need#

• Nursing students with prospective Spring, Summer, or Winter graduation dates who will be eligible to sit for the NCLEX and obtain licensure before the start of the internship.
• Prior experience in an Emergency Department or prehospital care, or current completion of a Senior Practicum in an Emergency Department.
• Registered Nurses with a current license to practice in Pennsylvania or New Jersey (for the Warren campus) who have not previously worked in an Emergency Department setting.
• Current BLS certification.
