Graduate Nurse, Acute Care (Med Surg) Internship, Opportunities at All Campuses (Full Time)

About the role#

St. Luke's University Health Network offers a full-time, paid Acute Care (Med Surg) Internship for graduate nurses. This competency-based program is designed to bridge the transition from novice to advanced beginner through a combination of seminars, workshops, simulation, and supervised hands-on training. Interns work with a dedicated education team and clinical preceptors to develop leadership, team-building, and conflict-management skills. Upon successful completion of the program, participants transition into a role within an acute care unit.

What you'll do#

• Perform in-depth, systematic assessments of all assigned patients.
• Formulate collaborative and individualized plans of care, identifying expected patient outcomes using the nursing process.
• Prioritize patient care by utilizing available resources and working cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, and patient-team personnel to maintain professional standards.
• Function as a professional role model and resource person, providing guidance to co-workers.
• Comply with all network and departmental policies regarding attendance, dress code, and confidentiality.

What you'll need#

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• A current Registered Nurse license to practice in Pennsylvania (or New Jersey for the Warren campus), or a Temporary Practice Permit issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
• Ability to commit to a full-time schedule, including the initial 7 business days of classroom orientation.
• Ability to meet physical requirements, including standing for up to 10 hours per day, lifting/carrying up to 75 lbs, and transporting patients weighing up to 500 lbs.
