Respiratory Care Student

About the role#

This position offers hands-on clinical experience for students currently enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy program. You will work alongside Registered Respiratory Therapists to provide patient care within the scope of your student practice at SSM Health DePaul Hospital.

What you'll do#

• Administer medications and treatments to patients under appropriate supervision.
• Deliver ordered therapies and assess patient responses.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions.
• Provide patient education regarding diseases, medications, and treatments.
• Respond to medical emergencies and rapid response situations as required.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Respiratory Therapy program (minimum second semester).
• Valid Missouri Respiratory Education Permit.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to maintain a constant state of alertness and safe work practices.
• Physical requirements include constant standing, walking, and oral communication, as well as the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 25 lbs.

Location & details#

• Location: St. Louis, Missouri.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Schedule: PRN (Per Diem), up to 24 hours per week. Shifts must encompass either the 6:30 am or 6:30 pm report times.
