About the role#
This is a hands-on internship with the engineering team at our facility in Eden, North Carolina. You will work directly with our products and support various engineering functions, including new product development, process improvement, and testing. This role is a full-time, paid position designed for students to gain practical experience in a professional environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist with projects from inception through completion and follow-up.
- Support staff by providing data for decision-making and completing assigned tasks.
- Evaluate existing processes to identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement.
- Collaborate with team members to create standard work instructions and process documents.
- Participate in department meetings and communicate with various stakeholders.
- Perform technical tasks including first article inspections, algorithm development, BOM comparisons, and reviews of drawings and parts.
What you'll need#
- Currently at least a junior in a bachelor’s program majoring in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
- A GPA of 3.0/4.0 or better.
- A strong interest in product, manufacturing, or sustaining engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and field-specific technology.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Self-directed initiative and a detail-oriented mindset.
