About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer 2027 term. You will join our engineering team in Overland Park to gain hands-on experience with product development, testing, and design. You will work alongside experienced professionals on projects that support our manufacturing solutions.
What you'll do#
- Assist with design analysis and prototype support for product development projects.
- Perform technical feasibility studies, economic analysis, and create design layouts for product improvements.
- Use AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software to create and modify engineering drawings and models.
- Support component and product testing, document results, and suggest design adjustments.
- Help assemble engineering standards to assist with automation and process improvements.
- Collaborate with engineers to update design programs, templates, and technical documentation.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or Design and Drafting Technology.
- Cumulative college GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to hand-sketch 2-D and 3-D objects.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Creativity and the ability to visualize complex spatial geometry.
- Knowledge of structural engineering concepts and practices.
- Programming experience is a plus.

- Physical requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform keyboarding tasks.
