About the role#
This internship offers hands-on experience within our Technical Services and Controls Engineering team. You will support electrical control systems, product development, and technical service operations for large-scale HVAC and industrial cooling solutions. This is a full-time, paid position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support the development and testing of control product solutions.
- Review and interpret product specifications and bills of materials.
- Draft technical documentation and review application limits.
- Participate in product improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and sourcing teams.
- Help qualify vendors and track compliance with electrical codes and standards.
- Maintain cross-functional communication.
- Contribute to technical training and support materials, such as product manuals and reference guides.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or Materials Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
- A cumulative college GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with test equipment, network communications, and scripting or programming is preferred.
- Knowledge of fundamental electrical engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.
Location & details#
- Location: Overland Park, Kansas.
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform keyboarding tasks.
- This position may occasionally require work outside of normal business hours.
