    About the role#

    The Southwest Florida Water Management District is hiring a Regulatory Support Student Intern to assist the Regulatory Business Development section. This role offers hands-on experience in business analysis, data management, and workflow optimization within a government agency. You will work on-site in Brooksville, Florida, for up to 25 hours per week between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist business analysts with daily tasks in the Regulatory Business Development section.
    • Elicit requirements for the ePermitting system.
    • Design, build, and conduct user acceptance testing for new or improved business processes.
    • Analyze, identify, and troubleshoot ePermitting issues.
    • Provide technical support to ePermitting users.
    • Learn core business analysis practices.
    • Perform other necessary duties as assigned.

    What you'll need#

    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Current enrollment in an accredited college, university, or vocational program.
    • Minimum GPA of 2.5 for undergraduate students or 3.0 for graduate students.
    • Valid driver's license.
    • Ability to perform continuous repetitive tasks like keyboarding.
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
    • Ability to operate a District vehicle for two hours or more at a time.
    • Preference is given to students pursuing a degree in Business Administration.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Brooksville, Florida.
    • Work Modality: On-site only.
    • Compensation: $14.00 per hour.
    • Schedule: Up to 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
    • Travel: Some travel within the District coverage area is required using a District vehicle.
