About the role#
The Southwest Florida Water Management District is hiring a Regulatory Support Student Intern to assist the Regulatory Business Development section. This role offers hands-on experience in business analysis, data management, and workflow optimization within a government agency. You will work on-site in Brooksville, Florida, for up to 25 hours per week between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
What you'll do#
- Assist business analysts with daily tasks in the Regulatory Business Development section.
- Elicit requirements for the ePermitting system.
- Design, build, and conduct user acceptance testing for new or improved business processes.
- Analyze, identify, and troubleshoot ePermitting issues.
- Provide technical support to ePermitting users.
- Learn core business analysis practices.
- Perform other necessary duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited college, university, or vocational program.
- Minimum GPA of 2.5 for undergraduate students or 3.0 for graduate students.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to perform continuous repetitive tasks like keyboarding.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to operate a District vehicle for two hours or more at a time.
- Preference is given to students pursuing a degree in Business Administration.

- Location: Brooksville, Florida.
- Work Modality: On-site only.
- Compensation: $14.00 per hour.
- Schedule: Up to 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
- Travel: Some travel within the District coverage area is required using a District vehicle.
