    About the role#

    Southwest Behavioral & Health Services offers Peer Support Specialist training for students enrolled in a qualified school. This program, hosted by our Prevention Program, provides hands-on experience to help you cultivate the skills needed to become Peer Support Certified. You will support K-12 students, adults, and families while learning how to manage professional responsibilities alongside personal experiences.

    What you'll do#

    • Attend required Peer Support certification and field training.
    • Participate in discussions and role-plays using your personal experiences and recovery story.
    • Adhere to agency work hours, policies, procedures, and rules governing professional behavior.
    • Self-manage your school requirements.
    • Work under the direction of your supervisor.

    What you'll need#

    • Be currently enrolled in an approved college or university.
    • Ensure your degree program requires an internship and qualifies for credit hours.
    • Be at least 21 years of age.
    • Pass a background check and drug test.
    • Obtain or hold a Fingerprint Clearance Card.
