About the role#
The School of Engineering, Technology, and Aeronautics (SETA) is hiring two student employees to assist with the daily operation of the Electrical Engineering and Uncrewed Aerial Vehicle (UAV) laboratories. You will report to the Engineering Lab Facilitator and work on a range of tasks including lab maintenance, student support during sessions, and robotics outreach. This role provides an opportunity to build technical and leadership skills while working with faculty and peers.
What you'll do#
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient laboratory environment.
- Support students during lab sessions by answering questions and directing them to resources.
- Monitor compliance with safety rules and proper equipment usage.
- Prepare, inspect, and troubleshoot robotics platforms for coursework and demonstrations.
- Assist with 3D modeling, fabrication, and the development of robotics components.
- Create and update technical documentation and assembly instructions.
- Prepare materials and represent SETA during STEM outreach events, including occasional evening or weekend activities.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other student workers.
- Adapt to new tasks as engineering and outreach needs evolve.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Undergraduate Day program at SNHU in good academic standing.
- Eligibility for Federal Work Study.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Major in Mechanical, Electrical, Aeronautical, or Robotics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience with 3D modeling software.
- Foundational knowledge of electronics, robotics, or laboratory equipment.
- Interpersonal skills with an interest in mentoring fellow students.
- Self-motivation and a willingness to learn new technologies.
- Availability to support occasional evening and weekend outreach events.

- This position is located on-site in New Hampshire.
- The role is part-time with rolling recruitment.
- This is a paid position with an hourly pay range of $13.00 to $15.00.
