About the role#
The Penmen Guide Co-Leader supports the leadership, training, and daily operations of the Penmen Guide team. You will help manage schedules, recruit and onboard new guides, facilitate meetings, and provide coaching. This role acts as a bridge between the guide team and Admissions leadership to ensure high-quality campus tours and a positive visitor experience.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate and maintain the year-round tour and office schedule.
- Lead the recruitment, interviewing, selection, and onboarding of new Penmen Guides.
- Plan and facilitate bi-weekly team meetings.
- Serve as a communication liaison between guides, the Leadership Team, and Admissions staff.
- Develop and facilitate training for new and returning guides, including updating the Tour Guide Manual.
- Conduct evaluation tours and provide feedback on tour delivery and professionalism.
- Support golf cart training and safety procedures.
- Meet regularly with the Penmen Guide Supervisor and Leadership Team to discuss operations and improvements.
- Coordinate staffing for Admissions events, group tours, and VIP visits.
- Collaborate with Admissions staff and the Pro Staff Event Coordinator on event logistics.
- Conduct regular check-ins with guides to support their professional growth.
- Develop initiatives to promote team engagement and morale.
- Identify opportunities to improve operations and the campus visit experience.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student at the university.
- At least one semester of experience as a Penmen Guide.
- Proven leadership, organization, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to act as a positive mentor and role model.
- Professional demeanor to represent the Admissions Office.
- Ability to manage time and maintain a flexible schedule, including potential availability in August for training.
- Ability to collaborate with the Penmen Guide Leadership Team.
- A valid driver's license is required or preferred.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position located in New Hampshire.
- The role is part-time.
- This position is paid with an hourly range of $13.00 to $15.00.
