About the role#
Southern New Hampshire University is looking for student employees to serve as Virtual Tutors with our partner organization, Learn to Be. This is a part-time, remote position for students who have Federal Work Study as part of their financial aid package. You will work one-on-one with students to provide academic support and mentorship. You have the freedom to set your own schedule, choose the grade levels and subjects you prefer, and select the specific students you work with.
What you'll do#
- Host tutoring sessions at least once a week for 60 minutes with each student.
- Provide support through homework help, test prep, and study skills.
- Act as a mentor to your assigned students.
- Maintain responsive communication with your students and their parents or guardians.
- Conduct sessions over Zoom, noting that these sessions are recorded for safety and quality assurance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a SNHU degree program.
- Federal Work Study as part of your financial aid package.
- Access to a device with internet and a working webcam.
- Completion of all Learn To Be onboarding requirements.
- Consent to a DOJ Dru Sjodin Sex Offender Database background check.

- This role is fully remote.
- You must reside in one of the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, or Wyoming.
- Compensation is $13.00 to $15.00 per hour.
