About the role#
The Lead Peer Educator acts as a mentor, tutor, and team leader within the Peer Education program at the Wolak Learning Center. This position helps you build leadership skills and tutoring expertise while contributing to the university learning community. You will support tutees in specific subject areas, mentor new tutors, and assist with program development.
What you'll do#
- Mentor new and current peer tutors and help with onboarding and professional development.
- Assist coordinators with discipline-specific training, workshops, and team meetings.
- Conduct class visits, in-class sessions, and special projects.
- Provide academic support through one-to-one tutoring, drop-in sessions, and class-embedded assignments.
- Handle WLC office opening and closing duties.
- Attend required training sessions and check office communications daily.
- Submit payroll hours and tracking forms after each shift.
- Meet regularly with the tutoring coordinator to support WLC goals.
What you'll need#
- At least one year of experience as a tutor at the Wolak Learning Center.
- Current enrollment as an SNHU student.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work well with students from diverse backgrounds.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position based in New Hampshire.
- The role is part-time and paid, with an hourly rate between $13.00 and $15.00.
- Hiring is conducted on a rolling basis.
