About the role#
This position supports the daily care, health, and cleanliness of cats at Darbster Kitty in Manchester. You will gain hands-on animal care experience while maintaining a safe environment for the animals. This role involves working alongside staff and veterinary personnel to ensure the well-being of the rescue population.
What you'll do#
- Feed and care for cats at the rescue.
- Clean cat condos, cages, and the facility, including laundry, mopping, and emptying trash.
- Assist veterinary technicians with medical care and medication.
- Document feline care by entering notes into the database.
- Assist with customer service and answering phones.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a SNHU degree program.
- Active work study as part of your financial aid package.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to maintain a consistent schedule.
- Comfort working with cats of varying personalities and medical needs.
- Willingness to learn about feline behavior, sanitation, and disease prevention.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional communication skills for interactions with staff, volunteers, and the public.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, kneel, and lift up to 40 pounds.
Location & details#
- Location: Manchester, New Hampshire.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 16-20 hours per week with flexible 4, 6, or 8-hour shifts.
- Compensation: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour.
