About the role#
Commuter Assistants provide customer service to the Southern New Hampshire University community. You will help build community for students who commute to campus. This role involves planning programming and supporting the Office of Student Involvement with special projects. You may need to work flexible hours, including late nights and weekends.
What you'll do#
- Plan monthly programs for commuter students.
- Advertise programs and items of interest to the commuter population.
- Update the Commuter Bulletin Board in the Student Center at least once a month.
- Create a monthly e-newsletter for commuter students.
- Write and submit at least two articles per semester for the Penmen Press.
- Respond to comments and questions on social media.
- Present at the Opening Weekend Commuter Session.
- Attend bi-weekly meetings with your supervisor and departmental appreciation events.
- Perform other assigned duties as needed.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current student who commutes to campus.
- You must be enrolled full-time in an Undergraduate Day or Graduate Day Program.
- Ability to work independently and stay self-motivated.
- A positive attitude and a commitment to an inclusive community.
- Physical ability to climb stairs, sit, stoop, walk, and carry 50 lbs.
- Punctuality for all shifts.
Location & details#
- This position is located on-site in New Hampshire.
- This is a part-time role.
- Work-study and non-work-study students may apply, though work-study students may be prioritized.
- Hiring is on a rolling basis.
