About the role#
Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a student employee for the position of Education, Equity and Impact Assistant with our partner organization, Breakthrough Manchester. This role supports a non-profit educational program that provides academic programming for students from marginalized communities. You will work alongside staff and educators to gain professional experience in non-profit operations, marketing, and event planning.
What you'll do#
- Create content for social media platforms.
- Plan and support special events and regular Saturday programming.
- Assist with teacher training events and program sessions.
- Prepare materials for activities and support daily administrative tasks like printing and filing.
- Retrieve and organize confidential student and academic information.
- Lead group activities and solve problems as they arise.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an SNHU degree program.
- A work study award as part of your financial aid package.
- Reliable transportation.
- Strong organizational skills and self-motivation.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- A commitment to learning and a positive, high-energy approach to work.
- Sensitivity to issues affecting access to higher education and an inclusive mindset.
- Proficiency with Google Suite, social media platforms, and Canva is preferred.
- Fluency in Spanish, Vietnamese, Bosnian, or other languages is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Manchester, New Hampshire (On-site).
- Schedule: 10 hours per week during the school year, excluding school vacations. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, with occasional evening and weekend work required.
- Compensation: $13.00 to $15.00 per hour.
