About the role#
Join the Assistive Technology team to gain work experience while helping others. You will explore assistive technology, create accessible videos and job aids, support campus events, and connect students with free digital resources. This role helps you build skills in communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and professional development.
What you'll do#
- Communicate with people who use assistive technology by listening and explaining practical strategies.
- Build your own confidence using various assistive technology tools and devices.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve basic technical issues.
- Contribute to team projects and research by gathering information and sharing ideas.
- Create clear, simple, and accessible job aids.
- Build relationships with student clubs and campus groups.
- Promote free digital resources and advocate for assistive technology.
- Participate in training sessions and apply new knowledge about accessibility to your work.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment at Southern New Hampshire University.
- A GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Comfort using Microsoft 365 and video creation or editing platforms.
- Ability to learn new information and apply it quickly.
- Skill in managing multiple tasks and solving basic problems.
- A commitment to protecting the privacy of others.
- Ability to work in a busy environment where priorities change.
- A curious mindset and interest in professional growth.
- Focus on the needs and experience of the person using the technology.
Location & details#
- This is a part-time, on-site position located in New Hampshire.
- The pay range is $13.00 to $15.00 per hour, based on skills and experience.
- Hiring is conducted on a rolling basis.
