About the role#
Southern Energy Management helps homeowners and businesses in North Carolina transition to solar energy and efficient buildings. We are looking for a Marketing Communications Intern to help tell our story. You will work with our solar and building science teams to create content that teaches and inspires. This is a part-time, hybrid position based in Raleigh, NC. The role pays $16 per hour for up to 20 hours per week. This is a 3-month internship with the potential for an extension.
What you'll do#
- Translate technical solar and building science concepts into clear, educational content.
- Manage projects using Asana.
- Create and share content across social media, newsletters, and blogs.
- Improve our social media presence to build an engaged community.
- Capture photos and videos that highlight our mission and team.
- Learn to use AI ethically as a tool to support content creation.
What you'll need#
- Proficiency in Google Workspace tools.
- Practical experience growing an audience on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
- A solid understanding of marketing fundamentals and strategy development.
- Strong communication and editing skills.
- Experience in photography, social video editing, or graphic design is a plus.
- Familiarity with Canva, Hootsuite, or HubSpot is an advantage.
- Students or graduates in Marketing, Communications, or Media Studies are encouraged to apply.
