About the role#
As a Pulp and Paper Technical Sales Intern, you will engage in commercial projects at customer pulp and paper facilities. This role provides hands-on industry experience, allowing you to own a project from start to finish while gaining a realistic preview of a career in technical sales. You will be paired with a mentor who provides guidance and feedback throughout the term.
What you'll do#
- Apply methods and theories learned in your coursework to real-world scenarios.
- Develop and refine skills in technical acumen, project management, communication, presentation, and business strategy.
- Work on a specific customer project with tangible deliverables that demonstrate how company solutions meet client needs.
- Network with professionals in your field.
- Evaluate the company as a potential employer.
- Present your project findings to senior leadership at the Intern Symposium.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a relevant STEM major, such as Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or Pulp and Paper studies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills focused on sustainability and cost performance.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Commitment to safety best practices and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Access to a reliable vehicle for travel to industrial locations.
Location & details#
- Term: Fall 2026 (September to December).
- Location: Augusta, Georgia area.
- Modality: Remote, with travel to industrial sites required.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship that includes a housing stipend for eligible participants.
