About the role#
Soccer Shots Pittsburgh is looking for coaching interns to help us run youth soccer sessions. You will work with children to provide a positive experience on the field. This is a part-time, on-site role with a flexible schedule based on your availability. We operate year-round with seasonal terms lasting 8 to 11 weeks. You should expect to work 10 to 15 hours per week. Coaching sessions typically last between 30 minutes and 1 hour.
What you'll do#
- Lead Soccer Shots sessions each week.
- Run demo classes at new and prospective locations.
- Support the Director of Coaching with staff evaluations, reviews, and training.
- Assist with preparations for seasonal coach training meetings.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the Soccer Shots curriculum.
- Provide feedback and evaluation of lesson plans.
- Represent the company at community events such as open houses or back to school nights.
- Distribute marketing flyers and yard signs.
What you'll need#
- A reliable personal vehicle for travel to various locations.
- A laptop with reliable internet access for remote communication.
- Self-regulation skills and the ability to work independently.
- Strong organizational and communication habits.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Irwin, Pennsylvania, with sessions held at various locations throughout the region.
- Coaching sessions are paid at a rate of $18 per session for Head Coaches and $10 per session for Alternate Coaches or Coaches-in-training.
- Non-coaching tasks are unpaid, though we can work with your school if you are seeking academic credit for this internship.
