About the role#
We are looking for an Information Technology Intern to join our team for the summer of 2027. You will work alongside experienced professionals to build foundational skills in IT operations, system and network administration, cloud technologies, infrastructure automation, configuration management, and technical support. This is a paid, full-time position based on-site in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
What you'll do#
- Support the build and operation of technology systems.
- Participate in hands-on development, testing, and troubleshooting tasks.
- Assist with the creation, implementation, and validation of engineering models, simulations, or software applications.
- Contribute to the documentation of technical processes and findings.
- Participate in team meetings, provide updates, and receive mentorship from senior IT leaders.
- Conduct research and assist with the development of solutions to current technical challenges.
- Engage in learning and networking activities.
What you'll need#
- Completed freshman year of college by the start of the internship (must be a rising sophomore, junior, or senior).
- Enrollment in a relevant degree program such as computer science, computer engineering, systems engineering, software engineering, or cybersecurity.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive attitude and a commitment to personal growth.
- Eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
- Previous experience or coursework in systems engineering, software development, or cybersecurity is a plus.
