About the role#
This is a full-time internship for the Winter 2027 semester, running from January through April. You will work on-site in Jacksonville, Arkansas, supporting the research and development of ammunition products. You will collaborate with engineering and production teams to design, test, and analyze new components and cartridges.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the design of new ammunition components and cartridges.
- Handload various ammunition for test and evaluation.
- Support engineering and production testing of new products.
- Perform mechanical inspections and assist in the development of fixtures and gauges.
- Execute ammunition testing to ensure compliance with SAAMI standards.
- Safely operate test equipment and follow complex test plans.
- Document raw test data and create written reports.
- Analyze data to provide accurate status reports.
- Participate in root cause analysis for quality failures.
- Maintain range certification and follow all security and ISO procedures.
- Sustain 5S standards and comply with EH&S training requirements.
What you'll need#
- High School diploma.
- Current enrollment in a Science or Technology degree program, such as Physics, Chemistry, or Engineering.
- Knowledge of measuring devices like calipers, micrometers, and height gages.
- Ability to read blueprints and drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Understanding of product form, fit, and function.
- Experience with firearms and shooting is preferred.
