About the role#
The Research and Development Intern supports the design of firearm components and accessories. You will work alongside designers, test technicians, and engineers to contribute to departmental goals. This is a full-time, paid internship based in Exeter, New Hampshire, for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Create CAD models and update existing engineering designs using SolidWorks.
- Prepare engineering drawings and process design change orders.
- Assist with tests and experiments, including data analysis and report writing.
- Help manufacture and manage inventory for prototype parts and products.
- Maintain 5S standards and follow all ISO procedures.
- Adhere to firearm safety and range protocols at all times.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program for Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and technical report writing.
- Experience with CAD software for parametric modeling, with SolidWorks preferred.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Coursework in areas like thermodynamics, fluids, materials, or mechanisms is a plus.
- Prior experience with internships or design projects is preferred.
- Familiarity with the use and maintenance of firearms is a plus.

- Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and wear required personal protective equipment.
