About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Winter 2027 semester. You will join the uncrewed systems team to assist with the design, testing, and validation of electromechanical systems. You will work alongside R&D designers, test technicians, and engineers in a manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Process engineering design change orders.
- Assist with firmware and software development tasks using Linux, Bash, and Python.
- Perform tests and experiments, analyze data, and write detailed reports.
- Develop and run test scripts to automate processes and validate system functionality.
- Identify and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
- Perform hands-on rework and assembly of PCBAs, cables, and electromechanical systems.
- Support documentation of designs, test procedures, and configuration management.
- Manage prototype parts and products inventory.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects and sustain 5S standards.
- Follow ISO procedures, EH&S training requirements, security mandates, and firearm safety protocols.
What you'll need#
- Current candidate for a Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and report creation.
- Basic proficiency using PCB design software to edit or create schematics.
- Familiarity with Integrated Design Environments for software and firmware development.
- Preferred: Advanced coursework in digital design, programmable logic design, PCB layout, or motor control.
- Preferred: Prior internship, CO-OP, or design project experience.
- Preferred: Experience using and maintaining firearms.
