About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Winter 2027 semester, running from January through April. You will work on-site in Exeter, New Hampshire, as part of the Industrial Design team within the Research and Development department. This role focuses on solving design problems and communicating design concepts while supporting the broader team.
What you'll do#
- Compile research data and gather reference materials to support design efforts.
- Conduct ergonomic studies under the guidance of the Industrial Design team.
- Fit and test rapid prototyped parts.
- Incorporate product management specifications into design concepts.
- Conceptualize and develop specific products with support from senior designers and the Industrial Design Supervisor.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help meet project timelines.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects and maintain 5S standards.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Design or a related field.
- Developing proficiency in 2D design software and surface modeling in SolidWorks.
- A portfolio that shows your evolving design communication skills.
- Ability to take direction, learn quickly, and meet deadlines.
- Strong research and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to clearly convey ideas and information in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Firearm and outdoor experience is preferred.

- Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 25 pounds, prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, and the use of required Personal Protective Equipment.
