About the role#
SIFMA is looking for a Winter 2027 extern to join the Office of General Counsel in New York. This role offers hands-on experience with substantive projects alongside experts in financial services and public policy. You may participate in this program for school credit.
What you'll do#
- Conduct legal research and writing projects.
- Attend meetings with members and regulators.
- Help formulate, analyze, and support public policy positions.
- Address issues involving broker-dealers, banks, and non-profit corporate law.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a JD or LLM program.
- A strong interest in the financial industry and relevant regulations.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- A professional demeanor with a commitment to effective work.
