Intern Engineering Designer, Roads and Highways

About the role#

Sidara is seeking an Intern Engineering Designer for the Roads and Highways team in Falmouth, Maine, for the Summer 2026 term. This full-time, on-site internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the planning, design, and construction management of infrastructure projects while working alongside senior engineers.

What you'll do#

• Become familiar with engineering plans and project details.
• Perform quantity take-offs and assist with project monitoring and scheduling.
• Assist with computer modeling and the production of progress reports.
• Collaborate with engineers, drafters, and support staff.
• Assist in the production of engineering drawings, calculations, and cost estimates under the close supervision of senior engineers.
• Apply proper codes and standards to engineering deliverables.
• Attend site visits and inspections.

What you'll need#

• Current 3rd-year standing as an undergraduate in an accredited Civil Engineering program.
• Experience with MS Word, Excel, and relevant engineering software.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation is preferred.
• Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
