TYLin is seeking an Intern Engineering Designer for the Rail + Transit team in New York for the Fall 2026 term. This full-time, paid internship provides hands-on experience in the planning, design, and construction of rail and transit infrastructure, including high-speed rail, light rail, and multimodal facilities.
What you'll do#
- Become familiar with engineering plans and details.
- Perform quantity take-offs and assist with computer modeling.
- Assist with project monitoring, scheduling, and the production of progress reports.
- Collaborate with engineers, drafters, and support staff.
- Assist in the production of engineering drawings, calculations, and cost estimates under the supervision of senior engineers.
- Apply proper codes and standards to engineering deliverables.
- Attend site visits and inspections.
What you'll need#
- Current 3rd-year undergraduate standing or Graduate student status in an accredited Civil Engineering program.
- Experience with MS Word, Excel, and engineering software.
- Knowledge of Bluebeam, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
