About the role#
This co-op position offers students in engineering or computer science fields the chance to gain work experience at a chemical production facility. You will work in a part-time capacity while completing your degree. You will be mentored by experienced engineers on assignments ranging from small capital projects to daily operational support. You will also have the opportunity to shadow and interact with teams in production, logistics, lab, and maintenance.
What you'll do#
- Update AspenOne Process Explorer graphics and documentation, including converting existing graphics and developing new ones.
- Convert existing OSI Pi calculations and reports using AspenCalc, SQL++, and reporting tools.
- Setup and test controls simulation systems, perform server virtualization, and work with control systems programming including Structured Text, Function Blocks, Sequential Charts, and Ladder Logic.
- Update control systems diagrams and documentation using AutoCAD or Visio.
- Adhere to all EH&S regulations and engineering standards.
- Participate in safety audits, incident investigations, and PHA/HAZOP studies.
- Complete all assigned safety training.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Eligibility to work within the United States.
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening, including a background check and drug testing.
