About the role#
This co-op position offers students the chance to gain work experience at a chemical production facility while completing their education. You will work in a part-time capacity and receive mentorship from experienced engineers. Assignments cover a range of tasks from small capital projects to supporting daily operations. You will also have the opportunity to shadow various site functions, including production, logistics, lab, and maintenance.
What you'll do#
- Update AspenOne Process Explorer graphics and documentation.
- Convert existing OSI Pi calculations and reports using AspenCalc, SQL++, and reporting tools.
- Set up and test controls simulation systems.
- Learn server virtualization and control systems programming, including structured text, function blocks, sequential charts, and ladder logic.
- Update control systems diagrams and documents using AutoCAD or Visio.
- Adhere to all EH&S regulations and engineering standards.
- Participate in safety audits, incident investigations, and PHA/HAZOP studies.
- Complete all assigned safety training.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or Computer Science degree program.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Eligibility to work in the US.
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug testing requirements.
