About the role#
This position offers practical, real-world experience for students pursuing careers in pharmacy. You will work within a community pharmacy setting to gain hands-on training that complements your academic studies. This role focuses on developing the skills necessary to manage a retail pharmacy and understanding the evolving responsibilities of a community pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Greet and acknowledge all customers who approach the pharmacy.
- Ensure all privacy requirements are met, including maintaining customer confidentiality and managing consent.
- Enhance your knowledge of drug therapy, disease state management, and over-the-counter (OTC) products.
- Develop patient counseling skills and refine communication with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Assist in the delivery of health, beauty, and convenience services to the community.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a relevant field such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, or Health Administration.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with patients and team members.
- Understanding of customer confidentiality and consent management protocols.
- Interest in learning about OTC products and patient counseling techniques.
