About the role#
This is a part-time, hourly pharmacy student position located at a Shoppers Drug Mart in Richmond, British Columbia. The role provides practical experience in a community pharmacy setting, focusing on real-world training to supplement academic studies in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, or Public Health. The position offers flexible scheduling.
What you'll do#
- Acknowledge all customers approaching the pharmacy and provide a high level of service.
- Ensure all privacy requirements are met, including customer confidentiality and consent management.
- Enhance your knowledge of disease state management, drug therapy, and patient counseling.
- Develop skills necessary to manage a retail pharmacy.
- Gain practical experience to prepare for a career as a pharmacist in a community setting.
- Improve communication skills when interacting with patients, staff, and other health care workers.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a relevant program such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, or Public Health.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Knowledge of over-the-counter (OTC) products.
- A solid understanding of privacy requirements and confidentiality protocols.
- The ability to learn and apply retail pharmacy management skills.
