About the role#
This position offers practical experience for students pursuing careers in pharmacy within a community retail setting. You will work in a locally owned and operated store, gaining exposure to the expanding roles of a community pharmacist while developing skills necessary to manage retail pharmacy operations.
What you'll do#
- Greet and acknowledge all customers who approach the pharmacy.
- Ensure all privacy requirements are met, including maintaining customer confidentiality and managing consent.
- Enhance communication skills by interacting with patients, employees, and other health care workers.
- Develop knowledge of over-the-counter (OTC) products, disease state management, and drug therapy.
- Practice patient counseling skills to prepare for a successful career in a community setting.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, or Health Administration programs.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain strict customer confidentiality.
- Understanding of OTC products and disease state management.
