About the role#
This is a part-time, evening position for a pharmacy student at a locally owned Shoppers Drug Mart in Oliver, British Columbia. This role provides practical, real-world experience in a community pharmacy setting, helping students bridge their academic studies with the daily operations of a retail pharmacy.
What you'll do#
- Greet and acknowledge all customers who approach the pharmacy.
- Ensure all privacy requirements, including customer confidentiality and consent management, are strictly met.
- Provide an exceptional shopping experience for pharmacy customers.
- Assist in the delivery of health, beauty, and convenience services.
- Enhance your knowledge of disease state management, OTC products, and drug therapy.
- Develop patient counseling skills and learn the operational requirements of managing a retail pharmacy.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Pharmaceutical Sciences program.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and other healthcare workers.
- Foundational knowledge of OTC products and drug therapy.
- Ability to manage the demands of a retail pharmacy environment.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and professional standards.
