About the role#
This is a part-time, hourly Pharmacy Intern position at a locally owned Shoppers Drug Mart in Edmonton. This role provides practical, real-world training in a community pharmacy setting to supplement your academic studies. You will gain experience in retail pharmacy operations while learning about the expanding roles of a community pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Deliver health, beauty, and convenience services to the community.
- Acknowledge all customers who approach the pharmacy and provide an exceptional service experience.
- Maintain customer confidentiality and manage consent processes in accordance with privacy requirements.
- Assist in the daily management of retail pharmacy operations.
- Enhance communication with patients, pharmacy staff, and other healthcare workers.
- Remain clearly identifiable to the public as a pharmacy intern.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a relevant program, such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, or Health Administration.
- Knowledge of over-the-counter (OTC) products and drug therapy.
- Ability to provide patient counseling and manage disease states.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Commitment to ensuring all privacy and confidentiality requirements are met.

- Schedule: Part-time, rolling term.
- Compensation: $23.20 - $30.25 per hour, depending on experience and location.
