About the role#
This pharmacy internship provides practical experience within a community retail setting. Interns are exposed to the daily operations of a pharmacy and the evolving role of the community pharmacist. This position is designed to prepare future pharmacists for success by providing real world training that complements academic studies.
What you'll do#
- Acknowledge all customers approaching the pharmacy counter.
- Maintain high standards for customer confidentiality and ensure all privacy requirements are met.
- Develop professional communication skills with patients, employees, and other health care workers.
- Learn the essential skills required to manage a retail pharmacy.
- Gain hands-on experience in community pharmacy practices.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a relevant program such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Health Administration, or Biomedical Sciences.
- Knowledge of over-the-counter (OTC) products.
- Understanding of drug therapy and disease state management.
- Proficiency in patient counseling and customer service.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to maintaining customer confidentiality.
