About the role#
This Pharmacy Intern position offers practical, real-world training within a community pharmacy setting. Interns will gain exposure to the daily operations of a retail pharmacy, learn about the expanding responsibilities of community pharmacists, and develop the skills necessary to manage a pharmacy environment effectively. This is a paid, full-time position.
What you'll do#
- Acknowledge all customers who approach the pharmacy.
- Ensure all privacy requirements are met, including customer confidentiality and consent management.
- Deliver health, beauty, and convenience services to the community.
- Provide an exceptional shopping experience for pharmacy customers.
- Learn about the evolving roles of the community pharmacist and develop professional skills in a retail environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, or Public Health programs.
- Experience or interest in pharmacy practice within a community setting.
- Strong patient communication skills for interacting with patients, employees, and healthcare workers.
- Knowledge of over-the-counter (OTC) products and drug therapy.
- Ability to apply patient counseling skills and understand disease state management.
