About the role#
The Systems Engineering Intern supports the Integration Services team at SHI International Corp. You will gain hands-on experience with enterprise systems, infrastructure automation, and data center operations. This role involves collaborating with engineering and IT teams to build systems, troubleshoot performance issues, and document technical processes.
What you'll do#
- Install and configure operating systems and application software for customer orders.
- Develop and test automation scripts using PowerShell or Python.
- Participate in the validation and troubleshooting of firmware and device drivers.
- Monitor and test application performance under the guidance of senior staff.
- Document procedures and findings to help improve operational efficiency.
- Shadow engineers during server, switch, storage, and firewall configuration tasks.
- Assist with the maintenance of customer equipment in secure environments.
What you'll need#
- You must be a junior or senior working toward a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Availability for the full 12-week internship duration is required.
- You must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

- This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship at $20.00 per hour.
