About the role#
The Performance Coatings Group Innovation team is seeking a Co-Op for a 6-month assignment starting in January 2027. You will work under the guidance of a mentor to lead innovation projects that support color needs across multiple business units. This role is based on-site at the Morikis Global Technology Center in Brecksville, Ohio, with the potential for the term to extend to 12 months.
What you'll do#
- Build graphical user interfaces for machine learning models.
- Write code to manage model retraining, data handling, and data retrieval.
- Develop solvers to run machine learning models for optimization.
- Apply technical learnings and best practices to business units.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace while following all quality and safety policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Computer Science, Chemistry, Color Science, Physics, or Engineering.
- Standing as a rising or current Junior or Senior at the start of the program.
- Minimum 2.8 GPA (3.0 GPA preferred).
- At least 18 years of age.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Ability to work up to 40 hours per week.
- Programming experience in Python, C++, or similar (2+ years preferred).
- Experience with modular programming, machine learning models, and building graphical user interfaces.
- Familiarity with MS Office, Minitab, Databricks, or similar software.
- Basic coursework in chemistry and physics.
