About the role#
SharkNinja is seeking creative and skilled individuals to join our advanced development teams as a Product Design Engineering Co-op. This role sits at the intersection of industrial design and mechanical engineering. You will work at the leading edge of product ideation, helping develop the next generation of user-centered products for our Shark and Ninja brands. We look for people who enjoy translating open-ended, real-world challenges into meaningful solutions.
What you'll do#
- Generate new product concepts with a user-centered approach, focusing on ergonomics, aesthetics, and functional innovation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define solutions that meet functional requirements while enhancing the user experience.
- Lead and participate in design studies to solve technical and user-experience challenges.
- Build and test quick turnaround, low-fidelity prototypes.
- Build key findings on user testing with prototypes.
- Approach everyday design challenges with curiosity and resilience.
What you'll need#
- Current student in their third year or beyond of a bachelor's program, currently enrolled in a master’s program, or a recent graduate within the past year.
- Academic focus on Industrial Design, Product Design Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with classes in industrial design, or a related field.
- Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or Rhino.
- Hands-on experience building physical prototypes in materials like plastic or metal.
- Familiarity with machine shop equipment and basic prototyping tools including 3D printing.
- Strong intuition for mechanical engineering and physics principles.
- Ability to communicate concepts and solutions effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and skilled at juggling multiple projects.
Location & details#
- Term: Winter 2027 (January to June).
- Location: On-site in Needham, Massachusetts.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, 5 days per week.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
