About the role#
As an Engineering & Technology Intern, you will join teams across our electrical, embedded, software, robotics, digital, quality, test, and safety functions. You will work alongside experienced engineers on products that reach millions of homes. This role provides exposure to the full product development lifecycle, from ideation and prototyping through to mass production and post-market feedback. You will own a meaningful project from start to finish and present your contributions to leadership at the end of your term.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to the design, development, and validation of next-generation Shark and Ninja products.
- Work hands-on in labs, at the bench, and in code to build prototypes, test fixtures, and scripts.
- Support debugging, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and failure investigation on real consumer products.
- Develop and execute test plans, document results, and turn data into actionable recommendations.
- Participate in design reviews, sprints, stand-ups, and technical discussions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with departments including Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Firmware, Quality, and Operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's, master’s, or PhD program in a technical field, or graduation within the past year.
- Ability to work a full-time, 40-hour-per-week schedule.
- Strong fundamentals in your discipline and a builder's mindset, including comfort with lab equipment, hand tools, or code editors.
- Programming or scripting experience in one or more of C, C++, Python, MATLAB, TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, Kotlin, or Swift.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and product requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly.
- Prior experience through internships, co-ops, capstone projects, clubs, or research.
