About the role#
We are looking for a Security Infrastructure Engineer Intern to gain hands-on experience securing cloud infrastructure, applications, and developer workflows. You will work on real-world security problems across AWS and Kubernetes environments. You will collaborate with senior engineers to investigate issues, improve security visibility, and help build foundational security capabilities. This role combines hands-on work with learning and exploratory tasks.
What you'll do#
- Assist with vulnerability management activities, including reviewing scan results and validating findings.
- Support the triage of security findings from internal tools and external sources.
- Analyze logs and alerts from SIEM systems to identify potential security issues.
- Participate in basic security incident investigations and documentation.
- Implement and improve security controls across AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure.
- Support efforts to improve detection capabilities and monitoring coverage.
- Contribute to securing CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure workflows.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Cybersecurity or a related field.
- Basic understanding of computer systems, networking, and security fundamentals.
- Familiarity with Linux and command-line tools.
- Basic knowledge of security concepts like vulnerabilities, authentication, and the OWASP Top 10.
- Exposure to programming or scripting in Python, Go, or Bash.
- Experience using Claude or equivalent large language models to enhance productivity and research.
- Interest in cloud platforms, specifically AWS, and infrastructure systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
