About the role#
Serenity Care Health is hiring an Exercise Science Intern to support our wellness programs. This role serves both the residents of Serenity Assisted Living and our company employees. This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship based in Dilworth, Minnesota, with a rolling start date.
What you'll do#
You will help run wellness initiatives and provide direct support to participants. Your daily tasks include:
- Providing individual counseling on general wellness and nutrition.
- Teaching classes focused on strength, flexibility, cardiovascular health, and general fitness.
- Leading training sessions and seminars for staff.
- Managing fitness equipment to ensure facilities remain clean and safe.
- Tracking attendance and participation data for all wellness events.
- Operating fitness equipment and instructing others on how to use it safely.
What you'll need#
- Availability to work on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
- A background in Kinesiology, Public Health, or Nutrition.
- Sensitivity and an aptitude for working with the elderly.
- Ability to pass a background study.
- Completion of all required orientation and annual training sessions, including necessary health screenings like Mantoux tests or chest x-rays.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
