About the role#
The Marketing Accounting Student supports the team with recurring financial and production accounting activities. You will work alongside experienced professionals to assist with settlements, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting. This position provides hands-on experience with industry-specific accounting systems and operational data. You will receive coaching and mentorship as you develop your understanding of these processes.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and maintain accrual models for company facilities.
- Assist with financial and operational variance analysis.
- Enter and maintain producer splits in the Egistix system.
- Process counterparty invoices and support monthly settlement activities.
- Reconcile trucking-related general ledger accounts.
- Support Production Accounting with plant balancing.
- Run and maintain SSRS reports.
- Review and clean up UWI and battery information.
- Investigate discrepancies in accounting or operational data.
- Update training materials and process documentation.
- Collaborate with team members to meet recurring monthly deadlines.
- Assist with accounting projects and ad hoc analysis.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Business Administration program.
- Foundational understanding of accounting and finance principles.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle large volumes of data.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Initiative, accountability, and a willingness to learn.

- Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Terms: Summer 2027, Fall 2027, Winter 2028, and Spring 2028.
