About the role#
This position supports the Metals business segment at the Red Deer Metals Recycling Facility. You will join a finance team that manages reporting, cash flow, and operations. This role offers hands-on experience in corporate finance while you contribute to daily team operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist with cash reconciliations and resolve discrepancies to ensure accurate reporting.
- Support the preparation of financial statements by gathering and verifying data.
- Conduct inventory and vendor analysis, including reviewing costs and invoicing accuracy.
- Help the team with new software implementation.
- Collaborate with the accounts payable team to process vendor invoices.
- Participate in ad hoc financial projects and reporting tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program for Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics.
- Strong knowledge of Excel. Experience with accounting or financial software is an asset.
- Ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and assist in decision-making.
- High level of accuracy in data handling and report preparation.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to adapt as priorities shift.
- Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site position based in Red Deer, Alberta.
- The term runs from May to August 2027.
- You must reside in the Red Deer area or be willing to relocate at your own expense.
