    About the role#

    The Ship Acceptance Team operates at the intersection of Engineering, Contracts, Quality, and Project Management. This team is responsible for submitting Object Quality Evidence (OQE) to demonstrate that all contractual requirements are met for shipbuilding programs. As an intern, you will gain exposure to Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Safety, and Operations while contributing to large-scale shipbuilding projects.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist in the gathering of OQEs for programs with reference to contract and class requirements.
    • Prepare and organize acceptance-related documentation, including test reports, inspection certificates, and quality records.
    • Assist in defect close-out by gathering OQEs and verifying ship construction details.
    • Review functional drawings, 3D models, and manufactured information against the actual ship build.
    • Work on special projects as assigned by the Ship Acceptance Manager, Lead, or Quality Director.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in the 2nd or 3rd year of a Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering program, or Business Administration.
    • Demonstrated project or contract knowledge gained through class projects or previous co-op terms.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather, process, and analyze large datasets.
    • Outstanding Excel skills, including proficiency in Macros and Power BI.
    • High attention to detail, innovative thinking, and strong communication skills.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the Canadian Controlled Goods Program.

    Location & details#

    • Location: North Vancouver, British Columbia (On-site).
    • Term: 8 months (September 8, 2026, to April 30, 2027).
    • Commitment: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
    • Compensation: $28.00 per hour.
