    About the role#

    The Intern, Energy Management reports to the Industrial Energy Manager and assists with data collection, energy assessments, project participation, performance tracking, and internal reporting. This role provides an opportunity to work across shipyards on various day-to-day energy management tasks.

    What you'll do#

    • Collect and organize utility data into a database or tracking tool.
    • Monitor primary energy drivers and baseline model performance for key stages of shipyard construction.
    • Prepare monthly and quarterly energy consumption reports to highlight trends, variances, and anomalies.
    • Support the development of measurement and verification plans, business cases, and feasibility studies for energy projects.
    • Assist with cost-benefit and simple payback calculations.
    • Conduct walk-through energy audits, take readings from meters and sensors, and document energy-saving opportunities.
    • Track operational, maintenance, and external events that impact energy consumption.
    • Participate in Energy Management Committee meetings.
    • Develop educational materials for energy management programs and help organize company-wide environmental and energy events.

    What you'll need#

    • Working towards a diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy Systems, Environmental, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.
    • Strong digital literacy and organizational skills.
    • Ability to analyze data and produce clear information reports.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work within set timelines.
    • Willingness to learn about health and safety protocols.
    • Comfort moving around a heavy industrial environment.

    • Location: North Vancouver, BC, Canada.
    • Term: Summer 2026.
    • Modality: Fully on-site at 50 Pemberton Avenue.
    • Employment type: Full-time, paid internship.
