    About the role#

    The Intern, Ship Acceptance role is based within the Quality group at Seaspan Shipyards. This position sits at the intersection of Engineering, Contracts, Quality, and Project Management. You will support the team in submitting Object Quality Evidence (OQE) to demonstrate that contractual requirements are met for shipbuilding programs.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist in the gathering and validation of OQE for programs in accordance with contract and Class requirements.
    • Prepare and organize acceptance-related documentation, including test reports, inspection certificates, and quality records.
    • Review functional drawings, 3D models, and manufacturing data against physical ship construction.
    • Support defect close-out activities by gathering necessary OQE.
    • Work on special projects as assigned by the Ship Acceptance Manager, Lead, or Quality Director.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Engineering, Supply Chain, Safety, and Operations.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in the 2nd or 3rd year of a Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering program.
    • Demonstrated project or contract knowledge gained through class projects or previous co-op terms.
    • Strong interest in Project Management and contract administration.
    • Superior analytical skills with the ability to process large amounts of data.
    • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including knowledge of Macros and Power BI.
    • High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

    Location & details#

    • Location: North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
    • Work Modality: Full-time, on-site.
    • Term: Fall 2026 (September 8, 2026 – December 18, 2026).
    • Compensation: Paid position.
    • Security: This position is subject to a security clearance through the Canadian Controlled Goods Program.
